SBAY.ORG Social Events: Directions to Mountain Mike's Pizza at Bascom and Naglee [back up to SBAY.ORG Social Events] Mountain Mike's Pizza is at 2011 Naglee Avenue in San Jose, at the intersection with Bascom Ave. Mountain Mike's is on Naglee Ave just west of Bascom. It's 1/2 mile south of the Bascom/I-880 interchange or 1/2 mile north of the Bascom/I-280 interchange. Note: Mountain Mike's web site usually has some coupons which you can print out. The is the sbay.org pizza meeting location for Feb/Mar in 1Q2005 and Dec in 4Q2008.

From I-280 in San Jose:

• Take I-280 to Bascom Ave in San Jose.
• Turn northbound on Bascom Ave. This isn't a trick - you can't believe I-280's "north" (actually west in this area) or "south" (actually east). So from "northbound" I-280 you'll turn right on Bascom. From "southbound" I-280, you'll turn left on Bascom.
• Continue 1/2 mile, past San Carlos St to Naglee Ave.
• Turn left on Naglee.
• Mountain Mike's is the second building on the right, counting the construction site on the corner.

From I-880 in San Jose:

• Exit at Bascom Ave and turn southbound. From southbound I-880 (from Fremont/Milpitas), you'lll turn left on Bascom. From Hwy 17 & northbound I-880, turn right on Bascom.
• Continue 1/2 mile, past Hedding St, to Naglee Ave.
• Turn right on Naglee.
• Mountain Mike's is the second building on the right, counting the construction site on the corner.

Via Public Transportation:

• VTA Bus: The following bus routes stop at or within 1/4 mile of Mountain Mike's at Bascom and Naglee.
  • VTA Bus 23 - Downtown San Jose to San Antonio Shopping Center
    The nearest stop is at O'Connor Hospital - go 1/4 mile east on Forest Ave, which becomes Naglee Ave at the left curve in the road.
  • VTA Bus 61 - Good Samaritan Hospital to Sierra & Piedmont via Camden
    Stops at Bascom and Naglee.
  • VTA Bus 62 - Good Samaritan Hospital to Sierra & Piedmont via Union
    Stops at Bascom and Naglee.
• VTA light rail: Transfer to buses at these stations:
  • VTA Bus 23 at the downtown San Jose transit mall - St James Street, Santa Clara Street, or Paseo de San Antonio stations.
  • VTA Bus 61 or 62 at the Penitencia Creek, Civic Center or Bascom stations.
• Caltrain: Ask on the mail list for someone to pick you up at a mutually convenient Caltrain station.

Fly-in directions:

• From San Jose International Airport, airline terminal (by car):
  • Use the Coleman Ave exit from the airport - follow the signs to I-880.
  • Turn left on Coleman Ave and immediately right into the I-880 southbound entrance.
  • In a little over 1 mile, exit at Bascom Ave.
  • Turn left on Bascom Ave.
  • In 1/2 mile, turn right on Naglee Ave.
  • Mountain Mike's is the second building on the right, just past the construction site on the corner.
• From San Jose International Airport, general aviation terminal (by car):
  • Turn left on Coleman Ave for 1/2 mile.
  • Enter I-880 southbound.
  • In a little over 1 mile, exit at Bascom Ave.
  • Turn left on Bascom Ave.
  • In 1/2 mile, turn right on Naglee Ave.
  • Mountain Mike's is the second building on the right, just past the construction site on the corner.
• From Reid-Hillview Airport (by car):
  • At the airport exit, turn left on Capitol Expressway.
  • After almost 2 miles, cross underneath I-680 and turn right onto the entrance ramp to I-680 southbound.
  • In 1 mile, I-680 southbound becomes I-280 northbound. (Yes, seriously. Your GPS will tell you it's actually southwestbound here.)
  • After 5-1/2 miles, exit at Bascom Ave.
  • Turn right (northbound) on Bascom Ave.
  • After 1/2 mile, turn left on Naglee Ave.
  • Mountain Mike's is the second building on the right, just past the construction site on the corner.
