SBAY.ORG Social Events
In sbay.org, social events are a fun way for people to meet
who would otherwise only be e-mail addresses to each other.
- Monthly SBAY Pizza get-togethers
-
sbay.org has monthly pizza get-togethers on the
3rd Saturday of each month.
They start at 7:00PM and often last until 9PM or 10PM.
The discussions are usually semi-advanced to expert in level,
among people involved or interested in administration
of electronic communications systems using open standards and
Open Source Software.
The topics of the discussions evolve over the years.
It used to be that a regular topic that came up was the
"PacBell Blunder of the Month", which became the "SBC Blunder of the Month"
and then the "AT&T Blunder of the Month". But these days it could
just as well be the latest BIFF (backhoe induced fiber failure)
or something else.
A list including some current topics for discussion is included
each month in the reminder for the SBAY Pizza.
If you're new, you're welcome to let us know you're coming.
Send an e-mail to
pizzamaster@sbay.org
or to the social mail list.
- SBAY Social mail list

- Linux Anniversary Picnic
-
The
Linux Picnic
is the annual celebration of the anniversary of the
release of the Linux Kernel.
This tradition started in 2001 with the
Linux 10th anniversary
celebration.
Everyone enjoyed it so much that we decided to make it an annual event.
- Monthly Special Interest Group meetings
-
Some of SBAY's Special Interest Groups (SIGs) have monthly meetings,
listed chronologically...
